… … …

Too depressed to write any posts, actually. Arsenal are now out of the FA Cup as well, beat by Blackburn, again, by 1-0. As usual, great chances but no finishing. Meanwhile, Blackburn star striker Benni McCarthy returned to the side and scored in the dying minutes. Can’t blame Arsenal too much because the squad is heavily depleted.

I didn’t see the match because of the odd timing…would have needed to stay up till morning to watch it and given the current form that’s not something I can justify later on!

The finishing, however, is abysmal…Arsenal have not been able to just find the nerve to strike through on goal. Julio Baptista in particular has not been able to fire in a single one in since a long time. Given his form at Sevilla, one can only hope that in time he’ll adjust to the Premiership game and show off his skills. Henry is doubtful for Reading and PSV, sidelined with a foot injury.

Reading will be the test for how the team can pull together, a sort of testing ground for the vital match with PSV. They gave Man U a tough contest, 3-2 was how Man U beat them, and we can expect the same for Arsenal. Given that the three Man U goals were in the first 15 minutes of the game with some truly abysmal keeping by their keeper, maybe he can give our guys a little bit of target practice! Sure would help against PSV later…
